While V6000 supports older legacy models, it is optimized for mid-generation Pixma lineups. Ensure your printer belongs to these supported architectures before executing the software:

The printer must be manually placed into Service Mode (typically by a specific sequence of the "Power" and "Stop" buttons) before the software can communicate with it. Common Troubleshooting Codes I’ve been digging into the latest (Update version)

The V6000 tool has limitations. It does NOT reset the absorber in "disposable" models or models with Maintenance Cartridges (e.g., E40x, E41x, IP28xx, MG24xx, MG25xx, MG29xx, MG30xx ) . For those printers, the chip on the maintenance cartridge itself must be reprogrammed. Additionally, the program will not resolve general cartridge issues, ink level detection problems, scanner failures, or physical hardware damage; it is a software reset and diagnostic tool.

Standard users rely on Canon’s IJ Printer Assistant Tool or the LCD panel for maintenance. However, certain hardware counters can only be reset via Service Mode. The primary functions of the V6000 UPD are:
