Think of it like a high-security building. The game files are valuable items stored inside locked, armored boxes. The keys.txt file is the keycard that grants you access to every room and every box. Without it, you cannot open the files, let alone convert or modify them.
Beyond simply updating the file, you can optimize your NSCB setup for maximum reliability:
: Open your extracted NSCB directory and look for the internal system component folder named ztools . nscb keystxt better
: Paste your freshly dumped console strings directly into the template format, fill out any missing cryptographic variable lines, and save the updated file directly as keys.txt .
